The WHOLE-Self Healing Institute, Inc. (TWSHI) is a mental health non-profit providing support for post-traumatic growth & healing with trauma-informed, pleasure-affirming, and integrative care practices centering queer & non-queer Black women & non-binary (ENBY) folks' sexual well-being & WHOLE-Self healing.
Led by licensed trauma-informed clinical somatic sexologist, WSHI's mission is to help queer and non-queer trauma survivors develop healing-centered mind-body care practices, strategies, and frameworks for the WHOLE-Self healing. WSHI's aim to support marginalized communities' healing and returning to wholeness in the struggle of their post-traumatic stress symptoms.
We achieve our mission by curating accessible and high-quality mental health and somatic healing intensives, coaching, support groups, and professional development learning series that cultivate opportunities to establish embodied safety, trust, and overall well-being.
Committed to equitable access, WSHI ensures trauma-informed mental health and comprehensive sexuality education that provides steadfast post-traumatic growth and support for sexual healing and WHOLE-Self well-being.
Honoring the intuitive relationship between mind, body, energy, & spirit, WSHI reclaims the sacred relationship between sexuality & somatics, in addition to, the indigenous healing arts and practices rooted from Continental and Diasporic African, Turtle Island, East Asian, and South Asian and Pacific cultures. This reclamation allows for an empowered, spirit-inclusive, pleasure-filled, and uninhibited relationship with the WHOLE-Self and one's embodiment of one's wholeness, desirability, pleasure, power, healing, and wellness.
While we center the erotic lived experience of Black women and non-binary folks- our services support those who want to heal their relationship to their Self and their intuition tp create embodied safety and self-trust for a sincere, empowered, and intuitive relationship with self.
Pleasure-activism is not just wordplay. It is how we live and what we embody. Pleasure is our birthright and we are here to reclaim it.
Joy is the secret sauce to the resiliency of Black and oppressed people-worldview. When examined in queer culture, joy is tranformational for both the mind and the body. We tap into joy as our north star in the journey of healing.
We don't heal alone. Healing is individually driven and community supported. Creating community honors intuitive, generational, and ancestral wisdom. All are central to healing. The communal healing is critical to one’s ability to thrive.
Love & relationship styles vary- whether you are monogamous or non-monogamous, we honor how you love and what is need to keep the intimacy of that love.
Trauma impacts our ability to trust and be vulnerable. In our work of establishing safety for the practice of radical honesty & authencity, we provide safer spaces for clients to process their truth and vulnerability while improving their relationship to their intuition.
Mind-body-spirit insight and awareness enhances the experience of sexual and non-sexual pleasure. Our focus of integrating the erotic or the energy of desirability with nurturing mind-body, body-based, and energy practices are foundational to healing AND thriving.
